Shipping policy
We ship from Monday to Wednesday. Order placed after 12pm (EST) on Wednesday will generally ship the following Monday.
This is to avoid plants sitting in the mail over the weekend in the event of a minor delay from the carrier.
We do not ship outside of the US at this time, but we hope to change this soon!
The Packing Process:
Our plants are exclusively grown in LECA (Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate.) This makes our growing media reusable, eco-friendly, and easier to control pests. But that also means the majority of our plants must be shipped bare root, wrapped in lightly damp spaghnum moss.
Fortunately, this makes shipping cheaper for you and – generally – acclimation easier on the plants.
Most plants are wrapped in xboard tubes to prevent them from moving around in the box. The tubes are then filled with polyfil to prevent the leaves from moving around inside the tubes and getting mechanical damage.
During times of extreme heat or cold, we wrap the bundles with a layer of bubble insulation and/or packing paper. Complimentary heat packs are added when the daytime temperatures drop below 45ºF and complimentary ice packs are added during excessive heat waves.
For larger plants that wouldn’t fit in tubes, we pack them with a mix of polyfil and newspaper – whichever will keep the plants safer.
